Brilliant service, even helped me move a bed🙂Posted on Georgie AlexanderTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had our survey done, by Phil. He was very knowledgeable in the field, and walked us through the solutions we need to take. Our treatment was carried out by Craig, who took special care of all household items, whilst carrying out the treatment. Craig made sure to explain the best methods of cleaning the treatment. Would highly recommend! Thank youPosted on Leah Warner-TedaldiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Kai and Sam come to do isotherm insulation on our walls. They were great, really upbeat and friendly. They worked really hard and left the place so tidy. The work looks good so far! Review is done on the day of completion Update: we had a lot of trouble with this company in the end. The plastering work ended up needing to be redone. It took 6 weeks for it to be redone and we were left with a completely unusable room and really bad communication. There were so many times when I rang through to the switchboard and escalated matters for nothing to happen. We felt totally helpless and stranded. I have since tried to get through to their complaints team to no avail. We had the isotherm sheeting fixed which was then skimmed over the top. Once this had set you could quite easily push it in with your finger, denting it (see pic of finger dents). The company surveyor (who we asked to be sent round) said that this was expected and how the isotherm works (I would not recommend!) Luckily they sent a plasterer round to fix it, and he said the whole thing (isotherm and all) needed to be redone, and he redid it all. It now looks really good and doesn’t dent with your finger. TBH I wouldn’t recommend this company, I found them impossible to get in touch with and just gatekept at a switchboard and left us in a really vulnerable position and took 6 weeks to fix it.Posted on Monika NiebojTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had John and Ron at my house this morning fitting a new damp course. They were both friendly and professional. They turned up at my property on time, did a very neat job, explained everything that they were going to do and cleaned up after they had finished.Posted on James WaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What is Damp Proofing?
Damp proofing is a technique designed to prevent moisture from penetrating the walls, floors, and roof of your home. This process involves using protective measures such as damp-proof membranes, coatings, or specialised materials to shield against rising damp, condensation, and water infiltration from external sources.
For homeowners, effective damp proofing is essential to maintain the structural integrity of the building, protect plaster and timber from damage, and prevent the growth of mould.

Rising Damp Solutions In Derby
Rising damp can be effectively treated by injecting a silicone-based damp proofing course into the affected wall. If necessary, any damaged plaster will be removed and replaced with renovating plaster or a specialised cavity wall membrane system.
Although most properties in the UK have a damp proofing course, issues can arise due to poor installation, damage, or high external ground levels that compromise the course.
Our solutions come with a 25-year guarantee, offering long-lasting protection for your home.

Penetrating Damp Solutions in Derby
If you’re noticing excessive dampness, mould, or watermarks, you may be experiencing penetrating damp.
Our experienced surveyor will inspect your property to identify the source and recommend the necessary repairs. We’ll remove any affected materials and apply a waterproofing membrane to aid in drying. External issues, such as damaged masonry or roofing, will be addressed, and a water-repellent coating will be applied to protect your home.
All work is covered by a 25-year guarantee, giving you peace of mind.

What causes rising damp in Derby homes?
Rising damp in Derby homes is often caused by the failure of the damp proof course (DPC) or the absence of one. In older properties, DPCs may have deteriorated over time, or they may not have been installed correctly. Additionally, external factors such as high ground levels, blocked gutters, or poor drainage can exacerbate rising damp issues. Local building regulations should be checked to ensure adequate protection is in place.
How can I prevent condensation in my home?
Condensation is a common issue in the UK, particularly in areas with high humidity or poor ventilation. To prevent condensation, ensure your home is properly ventilated, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms, by using extractor fans or opening windows. You can also improve insulation and maintain a consistent indoor temperature to reduce moisture build-up. Dehumidifiers can also help manage excess humidity in more damp-prone areas.
Is damp proofing necessary in a new build?
Even in new builds, damp proofing is essential. Although modern homes are constructed with improved materials and techniques, factors such as poor drainage, high ground levels, or design flaws can still lead to damp issues. Ensuring your property has an effective damp proof course (DPC) from the outset can help prevent long-term problems, as rising damp or water ingress can damage plaster, timber, and foundations.
Can rising damp be treated without replacing the DPC?
Yes, rising damp can sometimes be treated without fully replacing the damp proof course (DPC). In some cases, silicone injections or other treatments can be used to restore or supplement an existing DPC. However, if the existing DPC is severely damaged or missing, it may need to be replaced. A surveyor will assess the condition of your DPC and recommend the most effective solution.
What is the difference between rising damp and penetrating damp?
Rising damp occurs when moisture moves upward through walls from the ground due to a failed or missing damp proof course (DPC). Penetrating damp, on the other hand, is caused by water entering the property from external sources, such as leaks in the roof, walls, or windows. Both types of damp require different treatments, with rising damp needing a DPC solution and penetrating damp requiring repairs to external sources of water ingress.
How can I tell if my damp is caused by condensation or rising damp?
The key difference between condensation and rising damp lies in the location and cause of the damp. Condensation usually occurs in colder areas of the property, such as windows, ceilings, and corners of rooms, often causing mould. Rising damp, on the other hand, typically appears at the base of walls and may leave salt stains or crumbling plaster. A damp surveyor can accurately diagnose the cause and recommend the appropriate solution.
What are the signs of mould in my home?
Mould often appears as black, green, or brown patches on walls, ceilings, or behind furniture. It thrives in damp, poorly ventilated areas and can cause a musty smell. Mould can also grow on timber, fabric, or wallpaper. If left untreated, it can lead to health issues such as respiratory problems. Proper ventilation and damp proofing treatments can help prevent mould growth in your home.
How long does a damp proofing treatment take?
The duration of a damp proofing treatment depends on the severity of the problem and the type of solution being applied. For instance, injecting a new damp proof course (DPC) can typically be completed within a day or two, while more extensive treatments, such as replacing plaster or installing cavity membranes, may take several days. A damp surveyor will provide a clearer timeline once they assess your property.
