Brilliant service, even helped me move a bed🙂Posted on Georgie AlexanderTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had our survey done, by Phil. He was very knowledgeable in the field, and walked us through the solutions we need to take. Our treatment was carried out by Craig, who took special care of all household items, whilst carrying out the treatment. Craig made sure to explain the best methods of cleaning the treatment. Would highly recommend! Thank youPosted on Leah Warner-TedaldiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Kai and Sam come to do isotherm insulation on our walls. They were great, really upbeat and friendly. They worked really hard and left the place so tidy. The work looks good so far! Review is done on the day of completion Update: we had a lot of trouble with this company in the end. The plastering work ended up needing to be redone. It took 6 weeks for it to be redone and we were left with a completely unusable room and really bad communication. There were so many times when I rang through to the switchboard and escalated matters for nothing to happen. We felt totally helpless and stranded. I have since tried to get through to their complaints team to no avail. We had the isotherm sheeting fixed which was then skimmed over the top. Once this had set you could quite easily push it in with your finger, denting it (see pic of finger dents). The company surveyor (who we asked to be sent round) said that this was expected and how the isotherm works (I would not recommend!) Luckily they sent a plasterer round to fix it, and he said the whole thing (isotherm and all) needed to be redone, and he redid it all. It now looks really good and doesn’t dent with your finger. TBH I wouldn’t recommend this company, I found them impossible to get in touch with and just gatekept at a switchboard and left us in a really vulnerable position and took 6 weeks to fix it.Posted on Monika NiebojTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had John and Ron at my house this morning fitting a new damp course. They were both friendly and professional. They turned up at my property on time, did a very neat job, explained everything that they were going to do and cleaned up after they had finished.Posted on James WaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Larry was very professional! He is very knowledgeable and helped me diagnose my damp issue.
How Does Loft Insulation Work?
Loft insulation is made of layers and layers of dense materials that prevent heat from passing through them. Types of loft insulation include materials like fibreglass, rock mineral, plastic fibres, cellulose or other natural fibres.
If your house is warm, the warm air within it will rise. In an uninsulated home, it will continue to rise until it escapes through the roof and out into the street. This is why some homes don’t collect snow on their roof during winter, or why birds choose to gather on their warm roof!
A house with an insulated loft keeps the warm air within your home, where it heats you and your family.

Free Loft Insulation Assessment
A loft insulation assessment identifies areas where insulation has deteriorated, shifted or is no longer performing effectively. Heat loss through the roof can significantly reduce energy efficiency and increase heating costs. Our experts assess insulation depth, coverage and condition to recommend suitable improvements, helping restore thermal performance and improve comfort throughout the home.
Common Issues with Loft Insulation
Homes with older insulation often lose heat because thickness falls below modern standards, causing higher energy bills, colder rooms, and reduced overall efficiency throughout the property in everyday winter conditions.
Pressure from stored items or walking compresses fibres, trapping less air and allowing warmth to escape, which undermines performance and increases heating demand over time for many typical household lofts.
Movement within the roof space can shift materials away from intended positions, exposing joists and ceilings and lowering thermal efficiency without homeowners realising until energy costs noticeably increase over time.
Structural elements conduct heat when insulation is interrupted, allowing warmth to bypass insulated areas and escape through timber and fixings, which reduces efficiency and increases heating costs across the home.
Do You Have a Hot Water Tank and Piping in Your Loft?
Home Energy Save GB can supply and fit tank jackets that keep your hot water hotter for longer, increases your system efficiency and helps to lower your energy bills.

What to Expect From Our FREE Loft Insulation Assessment
One of our experienced surveyors will assess the performance of your existing insulation, identifying areas where heat is escaping from the property, including the loft and adjoining structures. They will evaluate insulation coverage, depth and condition to highlight where efficiency has been reduced and improvements are required.
Using professional tools and digital measuring equipment, our surveyors carry out accurate assessments and clearly explain any issues, potential energy losses and recommended solutions. We offer a FREE Loft Insulation Assessment for all property owners.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my loft insulation needs replacing or upgrading?
Many homes have insulation that has deteriorated, shifted or no longer meets current efficiency standards. At Home Energy Save GB, we assess insulation depth, coverage and condition to identify heat loss. Signs include higher energy bills, cold rooms and uneven temperatures. Our surveyors carry out a full inspection and explain whether topping up, replacing or upgrading insulation will improve your home’s performance and comfort.
How much insulation should a loft have to be energy efficient?
Current guidance recommends a depth that older properties often do not meet. At Home Energy Save GB, we check whether your loft insulation reaches effective levels and identify gaps or compressed areas. Insufficient depth allows heat to escape quickly, reducing efficiency. Our assessments ensure insulation meets modern expectations and delivers real energy savings without unnecessary disruption to your home.
Will loft insulation really reduce my energy bills?
Yes, effective loft insulation significantly reduces heat loss through the roof, which is one of the main escape points in a home. At Home Energy Save GB, we regularly help homeowners lower heating costs by improving insulation performance. By keeping warmth inside for longer, your heating system works less, resulting in reduced energy usage and improved comfort throughout the property.
Is loft insulation suitable for older properties?
Yes, older properties often benefit the most from insulation upgrades. At Home Energy Save GB, we regularly work with homes that have outdated or ineffective insulation. We tailor solutions to suit the property type, roof structure and existing materials. Our approach ensures improved efficiency while respecting the construction of older homes and avoiding unnecessary complications.
Do you offer a loft insulation assessment before installation?
Yes, we offer a FREE Loft Insulation Assessment. At Home Energy Save GB, our experienced surveyors inspect insulation condition, coverage and performance before recommending any work. This ensures solutions are appropriate and cost effective. We take time to explain findings clearly, allowing homeowners to make informed decisions without pressure or obligation.
What types of loft insulation do you install?
At Home Energy Save GB, we install suitable insulation solutions based on the property and existing setup. This may include traditional insulation upgrades or advanced materials designed to improve thermal performance. Our surveyors recommend options that deliver the best results for efficiency, comfort and longevity, rather than a one size fits all approach.
