Brilliant service, even helped me move a bed🙂Posted on Georgie AlexanderTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had our survey done, by Phil. He was very knowledgeable in the field, and walked us through the solutions we need to take. Our treatment was carried out by Craig, who took special care of all household items, whilst carrying out the treatment. Craig made sure to explain the best methods of cleaning the treatment. Would highly recommend! Thank youPosted on Leah Warner-TedaldiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Kai and Sam come to do isotherm insulation on our walls. They were great, really upbeat and friendly. They worked really hard and left the place so tidy. The work looks good so far! Review is done on the day of completion Update: we had a lot of trouble with this company in the end. The plastering work ended up needing to be redone. It took 6 weeks for it to be redone and we were left with a completely unusable room and really bad communication. There were so many times when I rang through to the switchboard and escalated matters for nothing to happen. We felt totally helpless and stranded. I have since tried to get through to their complaints team to no avail. We had the isotherm sheeting fixed which was then skimmed over the top. Once this had set you could quite easily push it in with your finger, denting it (see pic of finger dents). The company surveyor (who we asked to be sent round) said that this was expected and how the isotherm works (I would not recommend!) Luckily they sent a plasterer round to fix it, and he said the whole thing (isotherm and all) needed to be redone, and he redid it all. It now looks really good and doesn’t dent with your finger. TBH I wouldn’t recommend this company, I found them impossible to get in touch with and just gatekept at a switchboard and left us in a really vulnerable position and took 6 weeks to fix it.Posted on Monika NiebojTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had John and Ron at my house this morning fitting a new damp course. They were both friendly and professional. They turned up at my property on time, did a very neat job, explained everything that they were going to do and cleaned up after they had finished.Posted on James WaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Larry was very professional! He is very knowledgeable and helped me diagnose my damp issue.
Loft Insulation Can Significantly Improve Energy Efficiency and Home Comfort
In many homes across Blackpool, older or poorly installed loft insulation can lead to significant heat loss, inconsistent room temperatures and increasing energy bills. When insulation has compressed over time, become patchy or was not fitted to the correct standard, heat can escape through the roof far more easily, leaving your home feeling cooler and more difficult to keep warm, particularly during the colder months.
Upgrading your loft insulation can have a noticeable impact on how effectively your property holds onto heat, controls airflow and reduces the chances of condensation forming within the roof space. Opting for a professional loft insulation service supports better energy efficiency, helps protect the structure of your loft and creates a more stable and comfortable indoor environment within your Blackpool home for years to come.
Free Loft Insulation Survey in Blackpool
Concerned about the state of your loft insulation in Blackpool? We provide a free loft insulation survey for homeowners throughout Blackpool and surrounding areas, including Bispham, Layton, South Shore and Marton.
Our knowledgeable surveyors carry out a thorough inspection of your loft space, assessing insulation levels, overall coverage and how air moves within the area. We identify where heat may be escaping and offer clear, practical guidance based on current standards to help boost efficiency, cut down on wasted energy and make your home warmer and more comfortable.
Common Issues Poor Loft Insulation Can Cause
Higher Energy Bills
Poor loft insulation allows a large amount of heat to escape through the roof, which means your heating system has to work harder to keep your home warm. This increased demand leads to higher energy usage, particularly during colder months when heating is used more frequently. Over time, this can result in noticeably higher household bills and reduced energy efficiency, making it more expensive to maintain a comfortable indoor environment throughout the year.
Uneven Temperatures
Inadequate loft insulation can create noticeable temperature differences across your home, with some rooms feeling colder than others. Heat tends to rise and escape through the roof, which often leaves upper floor rooms such as bedrooms feeling particularly chilly. This makes it more difficult to maintain a consistent level of comfort, especially during winter. As a result, you may rely more on heating to balance temperatures, which can further impact energy usage and overall comfort.
Damp Issues
Insufficient loft insulation can lead to condensation forming in the roof space when warm air rises and meets colder surfaces. This moisture can build up over time, creating damp conditions that are not always immediately visible. Left untreated, this can encourage mould growth and may begin to affect timber structures and stored belongings. Damp conditions can also impact indoor air quality, making the home feel less comfortable and potentially contributing to longer term maintenance concerns.Prolonged exposure to damp conditions caused by trapped moisture can lead to timber rot within the roof structure. Rafters and joists may begin to soften, weaken or decay over time. If not addressed, this deterioration can compromise structural stability, increase repair costs and reduce the lifespan of the roof framework.
Is Poor Loft Insulation Affecting Your Home?
Across many homes in Blackpool, poorly installed or insufficient loft insulation can affect how well the roof functions, particularly when ventilation has not been carefully addressed. If insulation thickness and airflow are not properly balanced, warm air can escape while moisture remains trapped within the loft space.
Limited ventilation can cause condensation to build on colder surfaces, which over time may lead to damp issues and possible damage to roof timbers. A professional loft insulation inspection helps confirm everything is fitted as it should be, promoting effective airflow, protecting the integrity of your roof and supporting the long term condition and value of your Blackpool property.

How does Blackpool’s coastal climate affect loft insulation performance?
Blackpool’s coastal conditions mean higher levels of moisture in the air, which can impact how insulation performs over time. If your loft is not properly ventilated, this moisture can become trapped, leading to condensation and reduced insulation efficiency. At Home Energy Save GB, we assess both insulation and airflow to ensure your loft can handle these conditions. We install solutions that allow your home to retain heat while still allowing moisture to escape, helping to prevent damp related issues and maintain long term performance.
Will new loft insulation help reduce heating costs in my Blackpool home?
Yes, upgrading your loft insulation can significantly reduce heat loss, which in turn lowers the amount of energy needed to heat your home. Many properties in Blackpool, particularly older homes, have insufficient insulation or materials that have degraded over time. By improving insulation levels, you can create a more stable indoor temperature and reduce reliance on heating systems. Our team ensures the correct depth and coverage is installed to maximise efficiency and help you manage rising energy costs more effectively.
How do I know if my loft insulation needs replacing or just topping up?
During our free survey, we check the current depth, condition and coverage of your insulation. If it has simply settled or is below recommended levels, a top up may be sufficient. However, if the insulation is damaged, uneven or causing ventilation issues, a full replacement may be the better option. In Blackpool homes, we often find a combination of both. We provide clear recommendations so you can make an informed decision based on the condition of your loft.
Can loft insulation help with cold spots in certain rooms?
Uneven temperatures in your home are often linked to heat escaping through the roof. Rooms directly below the loft can feel particularly cold if insulation is lacking or poorly distributed. By installing consistent, high quality insulation, we help retain warmth more effectively across your entire home. For many Blackpool homeowners, this results in fewer cold spots and a more comfortable living environment throughout the property.
