He was very knowledgeable in the field, and walked us through the solutions we need to take. Our treatment was carried out by Craig, who took special care of all household items, whilst carrying out the treatment. Craig made sure to explain the best methods of cleaning the treatment. Would highly recommend! Thank youPosted on Leah Warner-TedaldiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Kai and Sam come to do isotherm insulation on our walls. They were great, really upbeat and friendly. They worked really hard and left the place so tidy. The work looks good so far! Review is done on the day of completion Update: we had a lot of trouble with this company in the end. The plastering work ended up needing to be redone. It took 6 weeks for it to be redone and we were left with a completely unusable room and really bad communication. There were so many times when I rang through to the switchboard and escalated matters for nothing to happen. We felt totally helpless and stranded. I have since tried to get through to their complaints team to no avail. We had the isotherm sheeting fixed which was then skimmed over the top. Once this had set you could quite easily push it in with your finger, denting it (see pic of finger dents). The company surveyor (who we asked to be sent round) said that this was expected and how the isotherm works (I would not recommend!) Luckily they sent a plasterer round to fix it, and he said the whole thing (isotherm and all) needed to be redone, and he redid it all. It now looks really good and doesn’t dent with your finger. TBH I wouldn’t recommend this company, I found them impossible to get in touch with and just gatekept at a switchboard and left us in a really vulnerable position and took 6 weeks to fix it.Posted on Monika NiebojTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They turned up at my property on time, did a very neat job, explained everything that they were going to do and cleaned up after they had finished.Posted on James WaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What is Damp Proofing?
Damp proofing stops moisture from getting into your home through walls, floors, or the roof. It usually involves using materials like membranes or sealants to block problems such as rising damp, condensation, or water leaks.
For homeowners, proper damp proofing helps protect the structure of the building, prevents damage to plaster and wood, and lowers the chance of mould growth.

Rising Damp Solutions In Chester
Rising damp is usually treated by injecting a silicone-based damp proof course into the affected wall. Where needed, any damaged plaster is removed and replaced with renovating plaster or a cavity wall membrane designed to manage moisture.
Although most UK homes already have a damp proof course, problems can still happen if it was badly installed, has deteriorated over time, or if the external ground level is too high, allowing moisture to bypass the barrier.
Our treatments include a 25-year guarantee, giving your home reliable, long-term protection.

Penetrating Damp Solutions in Chester
If you’ve noticed mould, damp patches, or water stains, it could be a sign of penetrating damp.
One of our qualified surveyors will assess your property to identify the cause and recommend the right solution. This might include removing damaged materials, fitting a waterproof membrane to aid drying, and fixing external issues such as cracked masonry or damaged roofing. To help stop the problem coming back, we’ll apply a water-repellent coating to the outside of your home.
All treatments are backed by a 25-year guarantee, giving you lasting peace of mind.

What is damp proofing?
Damp proofing is a method used to prevent moisture from passing through the walls and floors of a building. It’s often carried out using a damp proof course (DPC) or damp proof membrane (DPM), which creates a barrier to block rising or penetrating damp. In some cases, chemical treatments or tanking (waterproof coatings) are used. Damp proofing is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of a property and for creating a healthy indoor environment, particularly in older buildings which may not have adequate moisture protection.
How can I tell if my property in Chester has a damp problem?
There are several signs to watch for that suggest damp might be affecting your property. These include a persistent musty smell, discolouration or staining on walls, flaking paint or wallpaper, black mould growth (especially in corners or behind furniture), and rotting timber. You might also notice cold, damp patches on walls, especially at low level. In older Chester properties, particularly those built before the 1950s, the risk is higher due to ageing brickwork and outdated or missing damp proof systems.
Do I need a damp survey before treatment?
Yes, having a professional damp survey carried out is a critical first step. A qualified surveyor will inspect your property to determine the source and extent of the damp. This ensures the treatment plan is accurate and targeted, avoiding unnecessary costs or ineffective solutions. Many damp issues are misdiagnosed when a proper survey isn’t conducted, which can lead to the problem recurring. The survey may include moisture readings, thermal imaging, and inspection of cavity walls and ventilation systems.
How much does damp proofing cost in Chester?
The cost of damp proofing can vary quite a bit depending on the type and severity of the damp, the size of the affected area, and the type of treatment required. As a rough guide, smaller treatments like damp proof injections might start at around £300–£500, while more extensive repairs involving tanking or membrane installation can run into the thousands. It’s best to get a detailed quote after a professional inspection, so you can understand what’s involved and what the costs cover. Some contractors in Chester also offer free initial surveys.
Is damp proofing covered by insurance?
In most cases, damp caused by gradual deterioration or lack of maintenance is not covered under standard home insurance policies. However, if the damp is the result of an insured event—such as a burst pipe, storm damage, or flooding—you may be able to claim for the repairs. If you’re unsure, it’s worth speaking with your insurer directly and reviewing your policy. Some properties in Chester located near the River Dee or older parts of the city may be more vulnerable to water ingress, which makes understanding your cover important.
How long does damp proofing take?
The timescale depends on the type and extent of the damp. Small jobs like chemical DPC injection can often be completed in one or two days. Larger jobs, such as removing plaster, installing tanking systems, or treating widespread damp, may take several days or even a couple of weeks. Once the work is completed, there may also be a drying-out period before redecorating can begin. Your contractor will usually advise on how long this will take based on the materials used and the moisture levels in your walls.
Will damp proofing fix mould problems?
Yes, treating the source of damp will stop the conditions that allow mould to grow. However, it won’t automatically remove existing mould, which will need to be cleaned off safely. Once the damp has been treated, it’s important to improve ventilation and monitor humidity levels, especially in kitchens and bathrooms. Installing extractor fans or using dehumidifiers can help prevent mould from returning. Mould spores can cause health issues, so removing both the mould and its cause is key to long-term prevention.
