He was very knowledgeable in the field, and walked us through the solutions we need to take. Our treatment was carried out by Craig, who took special care of all household items, whilst carrying out the treatment. Craig made sure to explain the best methods of cleaning the treatment. Would highly recommend! Thank youPosted on Leah Warner-TedaldiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Kai and Sam come to do isotherm insulation on our walls. They were great, really upbeat and friendly. They worked really hard and left the place so tidy. The work looks good so far! Review is done on the day of completion Update: we had a lot of trouble with this company in the end. The plastering work ended up needing to be redone. It took 6 weeks for it to be redone and we were left with a completely unusable room and really bad communication. There were so many times when I rang through to the switchboard and escalated matters for nothing to happen. We felt totally helpless and stranded. I have since tried to get through to their complaints team to no avail. We had the isotherm sheeting fixed which was then skimmed over the top. Once this had set you could quite easily push it in with your finger, denting it (see pic of finger dents). The company surveyor (who we asked to be sent round) said that this was expected and how the isotherm works (I would not recommend!) Luckily they sent a plasterer round to fix it, and he said the whole thing (isotherm and all) needed to be redone, and he redid it all. It now looks really good and doesn’t dent with your finger. TBH I wouldn’t recommend this company, I found them impossible to get in touch with and just gatekept at a switchboard and left us in a really vulnerable position and took 6 weeks to fix it.Posted on Monika NiebojTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What is Damp Proofing?
Damp proofing prevents moisture from entering your home through the walls, floors or roof. It typically uses materials like membranes or sealants to stop issues such as rising damp, condensation or water intrusion.
For homeowners, effective damp proofing protects the building’s structure, helps prevent damage to plaster and timber, and reduces the risk of mould.

Rising Damp Solutions In Shropshire
Rising damp is typically addressed by installing a high performance silicone based damp proof course within the affected walls, creating an effective barrier against moisture from the ground. Where necessary, any salt contaminated or deteriorated plaster is carefully removed and replaced with specialist renovating plaster or a cavity wall membrane system to help manage moisture and support the drying process.
All of our rising damp treatments come with a 25 year guarantee, giving you long term reassurance that your property is protected and helping to maintain a dry and healthy living environment.

Penetrating Damp Solutions in Shropshire
If you have noticed mould growth, damp patches or watermarks appearing on your walls or ceilings, it could be a sign of penetrating damp within your property.
One of our qualified surveyors will carry out a comprehensive inspection of your Shropshire home to locate the source of the problem and recommend the most suitable course of action.
To further protect your property from moisture, we can also apply a high quality water repellent treatment to the external masonry, helping to reduce water ingress and provide added defence against the elements.
What to Expect From Our FREE Damp Survey
One of our experienced surveyors will visit your home at a time that works for you.
Using digital tools, they’ll carry out a full damp survey to spot any issues and explain what’s causing them, how they’re affecting your home, and what can be done to fix them. The survey is completely free.
Some of the treatments we recommend could even help lower your energy bills, which is why HMRC applies a reduced VAT rate to them.

What are the most common signs of damp in Shropshire homes?
In properties across Shropshire, we often see damp presenting as tide marks on walls, peeling paint, bubbling plaster and a musty smell. You may also notice mould growth around windows or in corners where airflow is limited. Older homes, particularly those in rural areas or with solid walls, can be more prone to damp due to their construction. If left untreated, these issues can worsen and lead to structural concerns. At Home Energy Save, we recommend arranging a professional survey as soon as you notice early signs to prevent further damage.
What causes damp problems in Shropshire properties?
Damp in Shropshire homes can be caused by a range of factors, including rising damp from the ground, penetrating damp from external defects and condensation due to poor ventilation. The county’s mix of older housing and exposure to regular rainfall can increase the likelihood of moisture issues developing. Blocked gutters, damaged brickwork or failed damp proof courses are also common causes we identify during surveys. Our role is to accurately diagnose the source of the problem so we can recommend the most effective and long lasting solution for your property.
How do I know if I have rising damp or something else?
Rising damp typically appears at lower levels of walls, often up to one metre high, and may leave visible tide marks or salt deposits. In contrast, penetrating damp can appear anywhere on walls or ceilings, while condensation is more likely to form around windows or in poorly ventilated areas. It can be difficult to tell the difference without professional equipment and experience. At Home Energy Save, our surveyors carry out a detailed assessment of your Shropshire home to correctly identify the type of damp and ensure the right treatment is applied.
Do I really need a damp proof course installed?
Not every damp issue requires a new damp proof course, which is why a professional survey is essential before any work is carried out. If rising damp is confirmed, installing a modern damp proof course is one of the most effective ways to stop moisture travelling up through your walls. Many older properties in Shropshire may have an original damp proof course that has deteriorated over time. We will only recommend this treatment where it is genuinely needed, ensuring you receive a solution that is both appropriate and cost effective.
