Brilliant service, even helped me move a bed🙂Posted on Georgie AlexanderTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had our survey done, by Phil. He was very knowledgeable in the field, and walked us through the solutions we need to take. Our treatment was carried out by Craig, who took special care of all household items, whilst carrying out the treatment. Craig made sure to explain the best methods of cleaning the treatment. Would highly recommend! Thank youPosted on Leah Warner-TedaldiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Kai and Sam come to do isotherm insulation on our walls. They were great, really upbeat and friendly. They worked really hard and left the place so tidy. The work looks good so far! Review is done on the day of completion Update: we had a lot of trouble with this company in the end. The plastering work ended up needing to be redone. It took 6 weeks for it to be redone and we were left with a completely unusable room and really bad communication. There were so many times when I rang through to the switchboard and escalated matters for nothing to happen. We felt totally helpless and stranded. I have since tried to get through to their complaints team to no avail. We had the isotherm sheeting fixed which was then skimmed over the top. Once this had set you could quite easily push it in with your finger, denting it (see pic of finger dents). The company surveyor (who we asked to be sent round) said that this was expected and how the isotherm works (I would not recommend!) Luckily they sent a plasterer round to fix it, and he said the whole thing (isotherm and all) needed to be redone, and he redid it all. It now looks really good and doesn’t dent with your finger. TBH I wouldn’t recommend this company, I found them impossible to get in touch with and just gatekept at a switchboard and left us in a really vulnerable position and took 6 weeks to fix it.Posted on Monika NiebojTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They turned up at my property on time, did a very neat job, explained everything that they were going to do and cleaned up after they had finished.Posted on James WaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What is Damp Proofing?
Damp proofing is essential for safeguarding homes across Wales from ongoing moisture issues, particularly where water enters through weathered masonry, solid ground floors, or vulnerable areas such as roof junctions, chimneys, and exposed external walls. These problems are commonly found in traditional Welsh stone properties, older terraced housing, rural cottages, and modern developments throughout Wales.
For homeowners throughout Wales, professional damp proofing helps protect the structure of the property and limits the risk of serious long term deterioration.
Damp Proofing Experts in Wales
Home Energy Save GB delivers reliable damp proofing services for homeowners throughout Wales, with long term guarantees of up to 25 years available following completion of works. This provides peace of mind that damp problems have been properly treated and protected against future recurrence. With over 40 years of experience, our team is familiar with the damp issues commonly found in Welsh homes, including stone built cottages, traditional terraces, coastal properties, and newer housing developments across the country.
All damp proofing work is carried out by fully qualified specialists who follow strict standards for safety and workmanship. From the initial damp survey through to the completion of the recommended treatment, Home Energy Save GB applies a careful and detailed approach to ensure every property in Wales receives a durable and effective solution.

Rising Damp Solutions In Wales
Rising damp is typically addressed by installing a silicone based damp proof course within the affected walls. This treatment forms an effective barrier that prevents ground moisture from rising through masonry and causing damage to internal finishes.
Across Wales, many homes already have some form of damp protection in place, however problems can develop when older damp proof courses deteriorate, were incorrectly fitted, or when surrounding ground levels have been raised above the original protection line. These issues are particularly common in traditional properties and older housing stock found throughout Welsh towns and villages.
All rising damp treatments carried out by Home Energy Save GB are supported by a 25 year guarantee.

Penetrating Damp Solutions in Wales
Signs such as mould growth, discolouration on internal plaster, or damp patches appearing on walls and ceilings can often indicate penetrating damp affecting a property.
A qualified surveyor from Home Energy Save GB will attend your home anywhere in Wales to complete a detailed inspection. This assessment focuses on identifying how moisture is entering the structure, whether through external walls, roof defects, or poorly sealed openings, and understanding why the issue has developed.
All penetrating damp treatments carried out by Home Energy Save GB are backed by a 25 year guarantee.
What to Expect From Our FREE Damp Survey
A visit from one of our qualified surveyors enables a full assessment of the damp issues affecting your home anywhere in Wales. The inspection focuses on locating the source of moisture and understanding how and why the problem has occurred, ensuring any recommended treatment resolves the underlying cause rather than providing a temporary solution.
Once the survey is complete, you will be given clear guidance on the most appropriate course of action for your property. This may involve removing affected materials, fitting a waterproof membrane to support proper drying, and carrying out repairs to external defects such as worn masonry, damaged pointing, or faults within the roof structure.

Why is damp such a common problem in homes across Wales?
Damp is widespread in Welsh homes due to higher than average rainfall, exposed locations, and older building methods. Many properties in Wales are built with solid stone or brick walls, which can absorb moisture if not properly protected. Coastal air, persistent wet ground conditions, and poor ventilation also contribute. At Home Energy Save GB, we regularly carry out free damp surveys to identify the specific causes affecting homes across Wales.
How can I tell if the damp in my home is serious?
Persistent damp patches, mould growth, peeling paint, or a musty smell often indicate an underlying issue that should not be ignored. In Welsh homes, damp can worsen quickly due to ongoing wet weather. What starts as a small patch can lead to timber decay or plaster damage if left untreated. Home Energy Save GB offers free damp surveys across Wales to assess the severity and recommend appropriate solutions.
Is damp proofing different for older Welsh properties?
Yes, older Welsh properties often require a different approach to damp proofing. Stone cottages and traditional terraces were built to breathe, and modern materials can sometimes trap moisture. Rising damp and penetrating damp are common in these homes due to ageing masonry and worn pointing. Home Energy Save GB has experience working with traditional Welsh buildings and provides tailored damp proofing solutions following a free survey.
Can damp affect homes in coastal areas of Wales more severely?
Homes near the Welsh coast are often more exposed to driving rain, salt laden air, and strong winds. These conditions can accelerate water penetration through walls and roofs. External defects such as cracked render or damaged pointing are common causes. Home Energy Save GB regularly assists homeowners in coastal areas of Wales by carrying out free damp surveys and recommending long term damp proofing treatments suited to exposed environments.
What types of damp are most common in Wales?
The most common forms of damp seen in Welsh homes are rising damp, penetrating damp, and condensation. Rising damp is often found in older properties, penetrating damp is linked to external defects, and condensation is common where ventilation is poor. Home Energy Save GB identifies the exact type of damp during a free damp survey, ensuring the correct treatment is applied rather than a generic fix.
How do I book a free damp survey in Wales?
Booking a free damp survey with Home Energy Save GB is straightforward. Our experienced surveyors cover homes across Wales and will assess your property for damp, condensation, and moisture related issues. Following the inspection, you will receive clear advice and a no obligation report outlining the best way to protect your home from damp.
