He was very knowledgeable in the field, and walked us through the solutions we need to take. Our treatment was carried out by Craig, who took special care of all household items, whilst carrying out the treatment. Craig made sure to explain the best methods of cleaning the treatment. Would highly recommend! Thank youPosted on Leah Warner-TedaldiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Kai and Sam come to do isotherm insulation on our walls. They were great, really upbeat and friendly. They worked really hard and left the place so tidy. The work looks good so far! Review is done on the day of completion Update: we had a lot of trouble with this company in the end. The plastering work ended up needing to be redone. It took 6 weeks for it to be redone and we were left with a completely unusable room and really bad communication. There were so many times when I rang through to the switchboard and escalated matters for nothing to happen. We felt totally helpless and stranded. I have since tried to get through to their complaints team to no avail. We had the isotherm sheeting fixed which was then skimmed over the top. Once this had set you could quite easily push it in with your finger, denting it (see pic of finger dents). The company surveyor (who we asked to be sent round) said that this was expected and how the isotherm works (I would not recommend!) Luckily they sent a plasterer round to fix it, and he said the whole thing (isotherm and all) needed to be redone, and he redid it all. It now looks really good and doesn’t dent with your finger. TBH I wouldn’t recommend this company, I found them impossible to get in touch with and just gatekept at a switchboard and left us in a really vulnerable position and took 6 weeks to fix it.Posted on Monika NiebojTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They turned up at my property on time, did a very neat job, explained everything that they were going to do and cleaned up after they had finished.Posted on James WaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Spray Foam Insulation in the Loft Can Cause Serious Roof Problems
Spray foam insulation can restrict natural airflow within your loft, trapping moisture against roof timbers and felt. Over time, this lack of ventilation may lead to condensation build up, damp conditions and gradual timber deterioration that is not always visible from inside the property.
If left in place, moisture retention beneath spray foam can contribute to rot, structural concerns and complications during mortgage valuations or property sales. Professional loft spray removal helps restore ventilation, protect the integrity of your roof and safeguard the long term value of your Liverpool home.
Free Loft Spray Foam Assessment in Liverpool
Concerned about spray foam insulation in your Liverpool home? We provide a free loft spray removal survey for homeowners across Liverpool and surrounding areas, including Anfield, Allerton, Wavertree and Woolton.
Our experienced surveyors carry out a thorough inspection of your loft space, using professional diagnostic equipment to assess the condition of the spray foam, check roof timbers and ventilation, and determine the safest, most compliant approach to removal.
Common Issues Loft Spray Foam Insulation Can Cause
Restricted Airflow
Spray foam insulation can restrict the natural movement of air within a loft space, particularly when applied directly to the underside of roof tiles or felt. Without adequate ventilation, warm and moist air becomes trapped. This imbalance prevents the roof structure from breathing properly and increases the risk of long term moisture related issues developing unseen.
Condensation Build Up
When airflow is limited, condensation can begin to form on cold surfaces within the loft, including rafters, felt and fixings. Everyday household activities generate moisture that rises into the roof space. If this moisture cannot escape, it settles as water droplets, creating persistently damp conditions that may gradually affect surrounding materials and insulation performance.
Timber Rot
Prolonged exposure to damp conditions caused by trapped moisture can lead to timber rot within the roof structure. Rafters and joists may begin to soften, weaken or decay over time. If not addressed, this deterioration can compromise structural stability, increase repair costs and reduce the lifespan of the roof framework.
Is Spray Foam Insulation Damaging Your Roof?
Spray foam insulation can place added stress on roof timbers if it has been applied directly to the underside of tiles or felt. In many Liverpool properties, particularly older homes, adequate ventilation is essential to keep the roof structure dry and stable.
When airflow is restricted, moisture can become trapped, leading to condensation and gradual timber deterioration. Professional assessment and, where necessary, safe spray foam removal can help protect your roof and maintain your property’s long term value.

Can spray foam insulation lead to timber rot?
Yes, prolonged moisture exposure beneath spray foam insulation can increase the risk of timber rot. When condensation forms and remains trapped against rafters and joists, the timber may begin to soften or deteriorate over time. As part of our loft spray removal service, we thoroughly inspect the roof structure for signs of decay. If rot is identified, we provide clear advice on remedial action to protect the structural integrity of your property.
How do I know if my spray foam insulation needs removing?
Warning signs can include a musty smell in the loft, visible condensation, darkened timbers, mould growth or difficulty obtaining a mortgage. However, some issues are not visible without professional inspection. Our experienced surveyors assess ventilation, moisture levels and the condition of roof timbers to determine whether removal is necessary. We provide honest guidance based on the condition of your roof rather than recommending unnecessary work.
Can spray foam insulation cause mould growth in the loft?
Yes, restricted ventilation and trapped moisture can create the conditions required for mould growth. When condensation repeatedly forms on roof timbers, mould spores can develop on wood surfaces. During our inspection, we check for visible mould and underlying damp issues. If present, we advise on appropriate remediation alongside spray foam removal to restore a healthier loft environment.
