He was very knowledgeable in the field, and walked us through the solutions we need to take. Our treatment was carried out by Craig, who took special care of all household items, whilst carrying out the treatment. Craig made sure to explain the best methods of cleaning the treatment. Would highly recommend! Thank youPosted on Leah Warner-TedaldiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Kai and Sam come to do isotherm insulation on our walls. They were great, really upbeat and friendly. They worked really hard and left the place so tidy. The work looks good so far! Review is done on the day of completion Update: we had a lot of trouble with this company in the end. The plastering work ended up needing to be redone. It took 6 weeks for it to be redone and we were left with a completely unusable room and really bad communication. There were so many times when I rang through to the switchboard and escalated matters for nothing to happen. We felt totally helpless and stranded. I have since tried to get through to their complaints team to no avail. We had the isotherm sheeting fixed which was then skimmed over the top. Once this had set you could quite easily push it in with your finger, denting it (see pic of finger dents). The company surveyor (who we asked to be sent round) said that this was expected and how the isotherm works (I would not recommend!) Luckily they sent a plasterer round to fix it, and he said the whole thing (isotherm and all) needed to be redone, and he redid it all. It now looks really good and doesn’t dent with your finger. TBH I wouldn’t recommend this company, I found them impossible to get in touch with and just gatekept at a switchboard and left us in a really vulnerable position and took 6 weeks to fix it.Posted on Monika NiebojTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They turned up at my property on time, did a very neat job, explained everything that they were going to do and cleaned up after they had finished.Posted on James WaltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Larry was very professional! He is very knowledgeable and helped me diagnose my damp issue.
Damp in the Home is the Main Cause of Mould
Mould does not appear without a cause. In many Stockport homes, ongoing damp issues create the perfect conditions for spores to develop and spread across walls, ceilings and furnishings. Rising damp from ground level, penetrating damp caused by persistent rainfall, and moisture trapped within cavity walls can all leave internal surfaces cold and damp for long periods. Wiping away visible mould may improve the appearance temporarily, but it will return if the underlying moisture problem is not resolved. A thorough damp survey is essential to identify the source, protect your health, safeguard the structure of your property and prevent mould from becoming a recurring problem in your Stockport home.

Common Types of Mould Found in Stockport Homes
Green Mould
Regularly forming on walls, soft furnishings and around window frames, this mould develops quickly in damp and humid conditions. It is commonly associated with condensation but may also appear where water ingress is present. Spores released into the air can impact indoor comfort and cleanliness.
This type of mould often spreads across porous surfaces if moisture remains unresolved. Its appearance usually highlights ventilation shortcomings or damp problems that should be addressed to protect the home.
White Mould
Often mistaken for salt deposits or dust, this mould grows in areas where moisture lingers on walls, timber or stored items. It is frequently linked to condensation problems and inadequate ventilation, especially in cupboards, lofts and unused rooms.
Although it may look less severe, it can spread across surfaces and indicate elevated humidity levels. Left untreated, it can affect building materials and signal underlying moisture issues that require professional investigation within the property.
Black Mould
Commonly developing on walls, ceilings and around windows, this mould thrives in environments where moisture is consistently present. Poor ventilation, high humidity and cold surfaces all contribute to its growth inside homes. It often appears in bathrooms, bedrooms and living spaces where airflow is limited.
Spores can become airborne and affect indoor air quality, particularly during colder months. Its presence usually indicates an ongoing condensation or damp issue that needs addressing to prevent repeated growth and further damage.
Is Mould Dangerous?
Mould developing on walls and within properties across Stockport can present genuine health concerns, particularly where exposure continues over a long period. Airborne spores can lower indoor air quality and may trigger symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, headaches or irritation of the eyes and throat, especially in rooms that lack adequate ventilation.
Some people are more susceptible to the effects of mould, including young children, older adults and those with asthma or existing respiratory conditions. Continued exposure can worsen these problems and create an uncomfortable living environment, particularly in bedrooms and main living spaces where families spend a significant amount of time.

Why does mould keep coming back in my Stockport home even after cleaning it?
Mould will always return if the source of moisture has not been properly identified and resolved. In many Stockport properties, we see recurring mould caused by condensation, penetrating damp due to prolonged rainfall, or moisture trapped within cavity walls. Simply wiping down affected areas or using shop bought treatments only addresses surface staining. At Home Energy Save GB, we carry out a full damp and mould survey to determine exactly why the mould is forming. By resolving the underlying cause, whether that involves ventilation improvements or damp proofing work, we prevent it from returning.
How do I know whether the mould in my house is caused by condensation or damp?
The location and pattern of mould growth usually give us important clues. Condensation mould commonly appears on colder surfaces such as external walls, window reveals and corners of rooms, particularly in bedrooms and bathrooms. Penetrating damp or rising damp may present with staining, tide marks or damaged plaster. During our survey in Stockport, we use professional moisture meters and diagnostic tools to assess wall readings and building fabric. This allows us to accurately determine whether the issue is lifestyle related condensation or a structural damp problem requiring specialist treatment.
Is mould in my Stockport property dangerous to my family’s health?
Prolonged exposure to mould spores can negatively affect indoor air quality. In some households across Stockport, we see symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, irritated eyes and worsening asthma conditions. Young children, older adults and anyone with respiratory conditions are particularly vulnerable. While not every mould issue leads to severe health concerns, it should never be ignored. At Home Energy Save GB, we treat mould seriously and aim to eliminate both visible growth and the moisture source. Addressing the issue early protects both your property and the wellbeing of those living inside it.
Can mould damage the structure of my home?
Yes, ongoing moisture associated with mould can damage plaster, timber and decorative finishes over time. In older Stockport properties, persistent damp can weaken skirting boards, affect floor timbers and cause plaster to deteriorate. While mould itself grows on surfaces, the moisture feeding it can lead to deeper structural concerns if left untreated. At Home Energy Save GB, we assess not only visible mould but also the integrity of the surrounding building fabric. Early intervention helps prevent more costly repairs in the future.
What equipment do you use to diagnose mould issues?
We use professional moisture meters, thermal imaging tools and ventilation assessments to diagnose mould and damp problems accurately. These allow us to detect hidden moisture, cold spots and areas of poor insulation performance within Stockport homes. Visual inspection alone is not sufficient. Our detailed diagnostic approach ensures we do not misidentify condensation as structural damp or vice versa. Accurate diagnosis is essential to prescribing the correct treatment and avoiding unnecessary work.
