He was very knowledgeable in the field, and walked us through the solutions we need to take. Our treatment was carried out by Craig, who took special care of all household items, whilst carrying out the treatment. Craig made sure to explain the best methods of cleaning the treatment. Would highly recommend! Thank youPosted on Leah Warner-TedaldiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Kai and Sam come to do isotherm insulation on our walls. They were great, really upbeat and friendly. They worked really hard and left the place so tidy. The work looks good so far! Review is done on the day of completion Update: we had a lot of trouble with this company in the end. The plastering work ended up needing to be redone. It took 6 weeks for it to be redone and we were left with a completely unusable room and really bad communication. There were so many times when I rang through to the switchboard and escalated matters for nothing to happen. We felt totally helpless and stranded. I have since tried to get through to their complaints team to no avail. We had the isotherm sheeting fixed which was then skimmed over the top. Once this had set you could quite easily push it in with your finger, denting it (see pic of finger dents). The company surveyor (who we asked to be sent round) said that this was expected and how the isotherm works (I would not recommend!) Luckily they sent a plasterer round to fix it, and he said the whole thing (isotherm and all) needed to be redone, and he redid it all. It now looks really good and doesn’t dent with your finger. TBH I wouldn’t recommend this company, I found them impossible to get in touch with and just gatekept at a switchboard and left us in a really vulnerable position and took 6 weeks to fix it.Posted on Monika NiebojTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The Best Cavity Wall Insulation Can Cut Your Heat Loss by up to 35%
At Home Energy Save GB, we understand the importance of keeping your home warm and energy-efficient. Cavity wall insulation is one of the most effective ways to achieve this. However, it is crucial to conduct a thorough borescope survey to ensure the installation is done correctly and effectively. Incorrectly installed insulation can lead to cold spots and damp within the building’s fabric, so inspecting inside the cavity before installation is essential.
The Importance of a Borescope Survey
With our FREE Borescope Survey, we take meticulous steps to ensure your home is suitable for cavity wall insulation. During the survey, we will:
- Assess the suitability of your property for the installation of cavity wall insulation.
- Examine the internal condition of walls, cavities, and difficult-to-access spaces.
- Identify any problems in the cavity, such as rubble or obstructions.
- Check for damp issues that may compromise the new insulation.
Cavity Wall Insulation Installation
Inadequate insulation can lead to significant heat loss, increased energy bills, and an uncomfortable living environment. Poorly insulated walls allow cold air to enter and warm air to escape, making your heating system work harder.
Solution: Our cavity wall insulation effectively fills the gaps between your exterior and interior walls, reducing heat loss by up to 35%. This process helps lower energy bills, maintain consistent indoor temperatures, and improve overall home comfort.
Cavity Wall Insulation Extraction
Old or improperly installed insulation can cause damp, mould, and reduce energy efficiency. Inadequate or deteriorating insulation materials can trap moisture, leading to structural damage and unhealthy indoor air quality.
Solution: Our cavity wall extraction service removes defective insulation, clearing the cavity space for fresh, effective insulation. This process eliminates moisture issues, improves wall ventilation, and prepares your home for new insulation, enhancing energy efficiency and comfort.
Choosing the Right Insulation
EPS Beading insulation is one of the most advanced and efficient cavity wall insulation products. The process involves injecting beads into the cavity of your wall. The beading can improve the U-Value of the room by up to 70% (this is 20% more effective than the standard fibre insulation).
If you have had an installation carried out within your property that is not suitable for a certain insulation type, then it can cause voids that in turn cause damp problems, which will require a cavity wall insulation extraction. To save expensive and unnecessary work, the correct diagnosis of the causes of damp/ heat-loss is vital.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is cavity wall insulation and how does it work?
Cavity wall insulation involves filling the gap between the inner and outer walls of your home with insulating material. This reduces heat loss by slowing down how warmth escapes through the walls. At Home Energy Save GB, we assess whether your cavity is suitable and recommend the right insulation type. Proper installation helps keep your home warmer in winter, cooler in summer, and can lower heating bills while improving overall comfort.
How do I know if my home has cavity walls?
Most UK homes built after the 1920s have cavity walls, but this is not always guaranteed. The easiest way to check is by looking at the brick pattern. Alternating bricks often indicate cavity walls. A professional assessment is the safest option. Home Energy Save GB offers free insulation surveys where our surveyors confirm wall type, cavity width, and condition before recommending any insulation work.
Is cavity wall insulation suitable for older properties?
Older properties can sometimes have cavity walls, but suitability depends on the wall condition and exposure to weather. Some homes may have narrow cavities or existing defects that need attention first. At Home Energy Save GB, we carry out free insulation surveys to check brickwork, cavity cleanliness, and moisture risks. This ensures insulation is only installed when it is safe and appropriate for the property.
Can cavity wall insulation cause damp problems?
Cavity wall insulation should not cause damp when correctly assessed and installed. Problems usually arise when insulation is added to unsuitable walls or where external defects already exist. Our team at Home Energy Save GB checks for issues such as cracked brickwork, blocked cavities, and high exposure areas during our free insulation surveys. Addressing these factors first helps prevent moisture related problems.
Will cavity wall insulation make my home warmer straight away?
Many homeowners notice an improvement almost immediately after installation. Rooms often feel warmer and more comfortable, with fewer cold spots and draughts. Heat retention improves, meaning your heating system does not need to work as hard. Home Energy Save GB regularly hears positive feedback following installations, especially where a free insulation survey has confirmed the home is a good candidate beforehand.
Can cavity wall insulation be removed if needed?
In some cases, cavity wall insulation can be removed, particularly if it has been poorly installed or is causing issues. Removal is more complex than installation and requires specialist assessment. Home Energy Save GB offers free insulation surveys to identify whether existing insulation is performing correctly or whether removal and alternative solutions may be more appropriate for your property.
How do I arrange a cavity wall insulation survey?
Arranging a survey is simple. Home Energy Save GB offers free insulation surveys to homeowners across the UK. One of our experienced surveyors will assess your cavity walls, check for suitability, and explain your options clearly. There is no obligation, just honest advice to help you decide whether cavity wall insulation is the right choice for your home.
